This lovely lady was my first collaboration with my Mom, Judy. It was also the first time I used a whole bunch of different fabrics in a traditional block - a combo I fell in love with, hard.

There are lots of magical things about this quilt. First, we didn't really talk about the colors we wanted to use - and it worked! I love how the neutrals are sprinkled with color - little flowers and swirls. Each block felt like a mini masterpiece - and then together, they made this whole other shape!

I made my blocks our apartment in Texas, in 2011. We both made enough for a full-size quilt and traded half with each other - so this is made with half my blocks and half hers (and she has one too!). Magic.
