Clara was the first quilt I made. I started this adventure with our sewing club: Shalee, Kristina, and my Mom, Judy - and finished this first quilt sometime in 2009. Since then, she's moved with us from Minnesota to Texas and back, and has snuggled human and fuzzy buddy alike (Mr. Littlejeans, Bubbles, and Michael all pictured).

It was so fun to learn how to make a patchwork quilt by assembling these 5" foundation-pieced scrappy blocks. I used a wide variety of new and vintage fabrics with lots of weird little surprises (a scooter, a dinosaur - there is even an Elvis in there somewhere). This one isn't quilted, she's finished with yarn ties. She's still one of my favorites.
