Wherever you are in your sewing/quilt-making practice, I’d be glad to help you take the next step.

  • Learning how to use a sewing machine?

  • Always wanted to make a quilt, but not sure how?

  • Would you like to learn some new blocks or techniques?

  • Need a friend to help you tackle a challenging pattern?

In one-on-one (or one-on-two) meetings, I’ll help you take the next step from wherever you are right now.

Tutoring starts at $50/hour. I recommend scheduling a two-hour session to start. Contact me to get started.

I am just beginning to offer classes. See available class list below - though if you’re interested in learning something not listed here, let me know and I’d be glad to put a class together for you.

  • How to use a sewing machine

  • How to read a pattern (quilt or apparel)

  • Intro to patchwork quilting (beginner)

  • Intro to traditional quilt blocks (beginner/intermediate)

  • Intro to paper piecing (intermediate/advanced)

  • How to make an origami star ornament (beginner)

  • Traditional block bonanza (choose one from below)

    • Log Cabin

    • Half-square triangles

    • Nine-patch

    • Pinwheel

    • Flying geese

    • Square-in-a-square

    • Stars!

    • Strings

Classes are typically 2 hours and cost $150. Depending on the class, there may also be a small fee for materials per person ($5-10).

If you have a small group (3-8) who would like a class, contact me and we’ll figure out the details. My preference is to lead a class with a group gathered in a home - either mine or yours!
